🧨 Odoo Unlocked #005 — "When the Junior Is a Bot"

AI-powered implementation agents aren’t coming. They’re here. And they don’t sleep, scope creep, or send Slack updates at 2 a.m.

⚠️ Entry-Level Delivery Is Being Automated

In the last six months, we’ve seen AI tools handle what used to fill junior consultants' timesheets:

  • Field and model setup driven by plain-language prompts

  • Auto-generated Python code for server actions and scheduled jobs

  • Guided edits through conversational UIs

  • Training documentation drafted from recorded user flows or SOPs

Right now, it’s patchy. Some tools overpromise.
But the direction is clear — and it’s not slowing down.

If your delivery model still leans on selling low-cost hours for setup work,
you may soon find clients expecting the same for less.

🧠 Partners Aren’t Out — But the Floor Is Falling

Nobody’s replacing full implementation teams with bots — yet.

But AI is starting to erode the perceived value of routine work.
And that affects your pricing, scoping, and staffing plans.

The old pyramid model — a few seniors, lots of juniors — is under pressure.
Clients increasingly want senior thinking and AI-assisted speed, not layers of human throughput.

đź’Ą Why This Matters

AI tools aren’t competing with top-tier expertise.
They’re hollowing out the middle.

If you don’t adapt:

  • Margins shrink on baseline delivery

  • Your junior team becomes harder to justify

  • Scope assumptions age out faster than your templates

Ignore it too long, and you’ll find yourself explaining why setup took 40 hours when a prompt-based tool did it in four.

âś… What to Do About It

  • 🔍 Audit Your Project Structure
Identify which tasks are ripe for automation. Don’t wait for clients to do this for you.

  • 📉 De-risk the Junior Layer
Shift from hiring for execution to hiring for enablement. Train juniors to supervise AI, not just follow checklists.

  • 🎯 Scope for Intelligence, Not Just Labor
Lead with process clarity and decision support. That’s what clients will still pay for — even when AI handles the basics.

  • ⚙️ Experiment, But Don’t Overpromise
Use AI where it works. Avoid shiny-tool syndrome. Clients don’t want gimmicks — they want outcomes.

đź’¬ One-Liner to Steal

âťť

“AI didn’t replace delivery.

It just lowered the value of being average.”

🔍 Ask Yourself

If a client asked which parts of your scope could be handled by AI — would you have a clear answer?

And if not, what’s stopping you from finding out?

See you next Monday at 08:00 CET.
